Currently on Exhibit: Sheldon Statewide Exhibit, "Finding Horizons"
The exhibition "Finding Horizons" from the Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln opens at Gallery 92 West during the month of April.
"Finding Horizons" is a collection of artworks exploring the genre of landscape. Through various techniques such as painting, printmaking, and photography, this group of artists have been brought together for their strong use of horizon lines.
From the realistic to the abstract, the horizon lines in this exhibition give us footing within these compositions, allowing us to share the perspective of the artist and consider the worlds they have created. This exhibition features artwork from artists such as Russell T. Gordon, John Pfahl, Manuel Álvarez Bravo, and Thelma Lorie Christenson among others.
This exhibition is part of the Sheldon Statewide program. Sheldon Statewide is an annual program started in 1987 with the purpose of sharing the collection of the Sheldon Museum of Art with the people of Nebraska. During the school year of 2024-2025, "Finding Horizons" will visit 8 different venues and will be seen by thousands of people. The communities "Finding Horizons" will be visiting are Chadron, North Platte, McCook, Grand Island, York, Beatrice, Fremont, Falls City.
The Barbara Tellatin Gallery
About the Gallery
The Barbara Tellatin Gallery is lovingly named after longtime FAAA Member and Fremont artist and art teacher Barbara Tellatin. Barbara's husband purchased the naming rights to this space for the 2024 calendar year to honor her memory in the building and with the organization that she loved so much. Being the center of the guests' gathering at receptions and luncheons makes this gallery a favorite among exhibiting artists.
Currently on Exhibit: ANAC Selection Show
The Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC) will also be featured this month in the Barbara Tellatin Gallery. The work exhibited is by a variety of FAAA Member artists who work in different styles and media. The award-winning artworks from this show will join the top choices from other clubs across the state for a second round of judging at the State level. The 60th Annual ANAC Conference will be held June 11-14, 2025 in North Platte, NE.
Thank you to our judge Lynette Fast from Lincoln, NE
for accepting the difficult task of judging our show. Lynette has taught
students young and old for over 38 years, which has brought her a breath of
insight into creating art and the art of teaching visual arts. Lynette's
preferred mediums are jewelry making, metalsmithing, painting, drawing,
sculpture, and pottery. Exhibiting regionally, Lynette has worked in
three galleries and has shown her work in many galleries and exhibits throughout
