What is ANAC?

The Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC) is the only club in the U.S. that supports all art clubs in the sate. If you are a FAAA member, you can also be an ANAC member for an additional $12.

Gallery 92 Classes

At Gallery 92 West, we offer a variety of art classes designed to inspire creativity and nurture artistic talent for all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a beginner looking to explore a new hobby or an experienced artist seeking to refine your techniques, our classes provide hands-on instruction in a supportive and welcoming environment. Are you interested in taking a class for free? Are you able to give some time to the Gallery? Volunteer to be a class check-in volunteer, and you are able to take that class for free, as a thank you from us to you. Please contact Lindi at the Gallery if you are interested in serving in this role.

Are you interested in teaching a class at FAAA? We are interested in learning from you! Our education committee works to schedule classes and we help to promote your workshop. Instructors are compensated based on student enrollment. If you have an idea for a great project, whether it be for kids, adults, or both - we would love to have you share your artistic talent and passion with our students! Fun & Easy Alcohol Ink Coasters

January 11, 2025

  • Ages: 16+

  • Cost: $30 members; $45 non-members

This class includes demonstrations of and practice with alcohol ink basics. Each student will complete a set of four alcohol ink tile coasters.

SUPPLIES: Alcohol Inks: 3 or 4 colors you like together (Tim Holtz by Ranger, Pinata, or Hobby Lobby brands are recommended.) 2 small round brushes Towel to cover your lap Small plastic water well palette Masking tape (if you have it) Pencil and note pad Scissors Something flat to carry your art home (cardboard box, cake pan, etc.); they may still be wet.

The instructor will provide 4 tile coasters per person, alcohol, and yupo paper.

Experience The Joslyn

January 22, 2025

The Joslyn Art Museum is now open following a two-year period of construction and renovation! Join us for a bus trip to Joslyn and discover all that is new: The 42,000 square-foot addition, expanded art collection, new gardens, and reimagined amenities.

SCHEDULE

  • 8:30 a.m. - Meet at Gallery 92 West
  • 9 a.m. - Bus departs for Joslyn in Omaha
  • 10:30 a.m. - Guided tour of the Permanent Collection
  • 11:30 a.m. - Group lunch at your own expense in the Community Room (Menu to be announced; approximate budget = $20 per person)
  • 12:30 p.m. - Self-Guided Tour; explore Joslyn's galleries and the Hitchcock Gift Shop on your own
  • 2 p.m. - Bus departs Joslyn, returning to Gallery 92 West

This tour is intended for adults and is available only to FAAA Members (and one optional guest) on a first come, first serve basis. There are only 52 seats available. Your seat will NOT be secured until payment is received. Cost includes the price of the tour bus, driver gratuity & a guided tour of The Joslyn. Admission to The Joslyn is free and lunch in the Community Room will be at your own expense. Please respond no later than January 10, 2025.

Aquatic Acrylics or Go Fish!

  • Ages: 16+
  • Register by: Saturday, Jan. 17
  • Cost: $65 members; $80 non-nembers

This acrylic class will explore the use of transparent glazes to build up colors, adding depth to the painting. Fish will be created using this technique, building color layers for a beautiful piece!

Instruction is intended for both beginning and advanced artists. The instructor will bring reference photos. If you have any you'd like to use, please bring them.

If you'd rather use your own paints and brushes, here's what you need:

  • Acrylic paints - Titanium white, a Yellow (Cad yellow or yellow ocher), Ultramarine Blue, a Red, Light Green yellow or Light Olive Green, Burnt Umber or Raw Umber, Any other colors you want to bring
  • Brushes - Any kind; a one inch. 1/2 inch, and a small.

Drawing into Calm with Zentangle

February 1, 2025

The Zentangle® method is "an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns". Anyone who can hold a pen and write their name can draw this way. They will find they can do things they didn't know they could do! The class will explore the basics of this meditative creative process and some of the benefits and life lessons it offers. Draw your first tiles in this class, learning the eight steps of this meditative creative practice and some foundational tangles. This is a great way to get started on your own Zentangle journey.

Basic supplies will be provided: An archival black ultra-fine point pen, Zentangle pencil, tortillon, and Zentangle tiles. Students are invited to keep these supplies.

Diane Harpster is a Certified Zentangle® Teacher, completing the CZT Training Seminar with Zentangle founders Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas in November 2020. She has been creating Zentangle art since 2015 and loves sharing this practice with others as a way to experience calm, focus, and creativity - one mark at a time.

Valentine Pocket Books

Learn to fold two versions of pocket books. The pockets can be filled with contents of your choice - Compliments, gift cards, cash, little paintings, remembrances, or whatever you choose. Perfect for Valentine's Day!

Everything you need to complete this project will be provided. Extra tools would be helpful, so if you have a self-healing cutting mat and/or X-Acto knife, please bring them. You can also bring any special (foldable) paper you'd like to use.

Children's Monthly Art Class: Romero Britto Hearts

Romero Britto is a Brazilian born artist who now lives in Miami, Florida. His modern pop culture artwork is known and celebrated all over the world. We will learn more about this amazing artist, and about the history of pop culture. Then, we will create our own Britto inspired hearts! All supplies included. Gets messy, please wear old clothes! Class will be cancelled if at least 5 students have not registered by the registration cutoff date.

Spring Zentangle Tangles

The Zentangle® method is "an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns". Anyone who can hold a pen and write their name can draw this way. They will find they can do things they didn't know they could do! In this class we will tangle on a round tile called a "Zendala", using color and light and airy Spring tangles. Some experience of the Zentangle method will be helpful, but anyone will enjoy participating in this class!

Basic supplies will be provided for students to take home. They will include an archival black ultra-fine point pen, pencil, tortillon, Zentangle tiles. Class participants may bring their own favorite coloring supplies. Fine-point markers, colored pencils, watercolor markers are all good choices.

Claes Oldenburg was a Swedish-born American sculptor, best known for his public art installations typically featuring large replicas of everyday objects. Another theme in his work is SOFT SCULPTURE versions of everyday objects, like food. We'll learn more about Oldenburg and his 3-dimensional art and create our own whimsical sculptures…pizzas! All supplies included. Wear old clothes, may get messy! Class will be cancelled if at least 5 students have not registered by the registration cutoff date.

Fabric Art Cards

March 22, 2025

  • Ages: 12-Adult

Come play with fabrics and create 5 Greeting Cards!
Choose from the wide selection of fabrics and decorations provided by the instructor or bring your own for a more personalized design. All supplies are furnished (including envelopes). Students can use slow stitching and/or glue to create their cards. Class will be cancelled if at least 5 students have not registered by the registration cutoff date.

Dorothy Tuma is best known for her black and white architectural photographs. Recently she has turned to fabric art to recreate her artistic visions. She enjoys the tactile creation process. Her current art pieces are expressions of photos replicated in fabric. She also enjoys working in abstract form on fabric as the canvas with various techniques. Her fabric art has appeared in group art shows in Omaha, Lincoln, Fremont, and Nebraska City, Nebraska.

FAAA and Gallery 92 West are run by volunteers and individuals who are passionate about bringing cultural opportunities to artists, art appreciators and our youth in Fremont and the surrounding area. We welcome your ideas for growing FAAA by getting the word out about the great things happening at Gallery 92 West. ​ Would you like to see our community grow in the arts?

  • Take photos at Gallery and community events throughout the year.
  • Volunteer to docent at the Gallery or work in the Art Emporium gift shop any day Tuesday through Sunday from 1-4 p.m.
  • Promote FAAA membership to other regional artists, friends and family you know who love the arts.
  • Help hang monthly exhibits or volunteer at community events.
  • Help with our Annual Gala.
